SZYMON MARCINIAK COULD BE PENALIZED FOR THE MISTAKES IN BAYERN MUNICH’S LOSS TO REAL MADRID IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Bayern Munich, fans and players alike, will take some time to process one of the most painful eliminations from the Champions League to date. Real Madrid and their henchmen promptly linked up to boot the Rekordmeister out in the semifinals thanks to some disgraceful refereeing. Szymon Marciniak, who officiated this game, is now set to be penalized for the damage he did:

Marciniak’s blunders can be compared to Martin Hansson’s, who famously missed the infamous Thierry Henry handball(s) in Ireland’s 2010 World Cup playoff match against France on 18 November 2009. The outcome was the demotion of the Swede to fourth official and not refereeing any game in that tournament.
