BEARS SIGN ANOTHER QUARTERBACK FOLLOWING THE NFL DRAFT

The Chicago Bears have added an undrafted quarterback to their roster.

They agreed to terms with quarterback Austin Reed on Thursday.

Reed went undrafted after spending two seasons at West Florida before transferring to Western Kentucky. During his time at Western Kentucky, he threw for 8,086 yards and 71 touchdowns while completing 63.2% of his passes.

He'll have the chance to participate in the Bears’ rookie minicamp this weekend. He'll be the second rookie quarterback with the Bears after they took Caleb Williams first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Williams will start at the position for this season as the team sees him as their next franchise quarterback.

Reed is the fourth quarterback on the Bears roster right now, behind Williams, Tyson Bagent, and Brett Rypien. Who knows,

The Bears also signed a few other undrafted free agents for rookie minicamp, including tight end Brendan Bates, cornerback Reddy Steward, and defensive tackle Keith Randolph Jr.

The future looks bright in Chicago after the Bears finished the 2013 season with a 7-10 record. That was tied for last in the NFC North.
