DETROIT LIONS GET SHOUTOUT IN DEBUT OF LATEST EDITION OF 'HARD KNOCKS'

The debut of the offseason edition of the show "Hard Knocks" that features the New York Giants debuted on Tuesday and the Detroit Lions were mentioned during the episode.

In one scene, New York's director of pro scouting Chris Rossetti reflects on the 2023 season now-former Giants and current Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley had.

And, while doing that, he praised the Lions' offensive line, which was arguably the best group in the NFL last season.

“Did Saquon have his best year? No, and I think he’d say the same thing," Rossetti said. "The other guys on the (franchise) tag didn’t either, but out of the guys — traits-wise — he had the most. Put him behind the Detroit offensive line, put him behind the Philly offensive line, there might be more value to another team."

The Lions and Eagles have been neck-and-neck for the title of the best offensive line in the sport in recent years. But that is no longer a debate after Philly lost star center Jason Kelce to retirement this offseason.

While no doubt talented, Barkley has had no shortage of struggles since entering the league. Not only has he dealt with injuries, he has also been a victim of a terrible offensive line.

One can only imagine how much better he would have been behind an elite offensive line like Detroit's.
