FORMER GIANTS OL KOREY CUNNINGHAM DIES AT 28

Former New York Giants offensive lineman Korey Cunningham has died.

Cunningham was found dead at his home in Clifton, N.J., on Thursday, according to a report from RLS Media. He was 28.

Police responded to a call at the home at around 3:30 p.m. and found Cunningham unresponsive. Authorities said no foul play was suspected and the death was believed to be a suicide.

The Giants issued a statement on Friday.

“We are saddened to hear of the passing of Korey Cunningham. He was a vital part of the spirit and camaraderie of the locker room,” the team said. “Our thoughts are with Korey’s family, friends and teammates.”

The Arizona Cardinals drafted Cunningham in the seventh round back in 2018. The former Cincinnati offensive tackle suffered a foot injury late in his rookie season and was placed on injured reserve. He was then traded to the New England Patriots ahead of the 2019 season and spent two years with them before finishing his career with the Giants.

Cunningham appeared in 31 games across five NFL seasons. He made six starts.
