JETS 2024 NFL DRAFT GRADE: NYJ GETS A FOR TRADING UP TO TAKE WR MALACHI CORLEY
The Jets added another wide receiver to their pass-catching group after a small trade-up in the third round.
New York took Western Kentucky's Malachi Corley with the No. 65 pick after the Jets sent the No. 72 and No. 157 pick to the Panthers.
The pro comparison of 49ers star Deebo Samuel immediately pops off given Corley's size, skillset and production. Corley stands at 5-foot-11, 215 pounds and finished the 2023 season with 73 receptions for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had 101 receptions for 1,295 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022 and totaled 259 receptions for 3,035 yards and 29 touchdowns in four seasons at Western Kentucky.

Pass-catcher was a need for the Jets, and many speculated the Jets could snag one in the first round either in a trade-up or by taking someone at No. 10. Instead, New York took Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu with the pick, leaving the Jets to wait and see who would be available for them later.
Corley should slide into the Jets' offense well alongside Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams. He can play more inside in a Deebo-like role and become a nice safety net for Aaron Rodgers. For a team looking to win-now in 2024, Corley adds a new dimension to an offense that looked stagnant in 2023.
