STEELERS MET WITH EX-LIONS CB CAMERON SUTTON, PER REPORT

Just a little over one month after being released by the Detroit Lions following an arrest for alleged domestic battery by strangulation, the Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly checked in on cornerback Cameron Sutton.

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan met with Sutton in Pittsburgh last week.

A former third-round pick of the Steelers in 2017, Sutton spent six seasons with Pittsburgh, appearing in 84 games (39 starts) in that span.

Sutton was inked to a three-year deal worth $33 million with $22.5 million guaranteed last offseason to bolster the Lions' secondary. He played in all 17 games during his lone season with the Lions, tallying one pick, 65 tackles and six passes defensed.

The Tennessee product also appeared in all three playoff games for Detroit, finishing with seven tackles and three passes defensed in those contests.

It remains to be seen if Sutton would even be able to play in 2024 due to his legal issues, but clearly the Steelers are checking in on him, for one reason or another.
