VIKINGS SELECT OREGON CB KHYREE JACKSON AT NO. 108

The Minnesota Vikings stay put at 108th overall and take Oregon CB Khyree Jackson. The thought was the that the Vikings might want to trade down and acquire another pick but they decided to stay and take a cornerback to fortify the position.

I wrote a scouting report on Jackson and his strengths are something that Brian Flores can work with.

Jackson is a talented player who also has incredible size and good length for the position. He tracks the football well and uses his length to attack the football.

Displays excellent ball skills. Had eight PBUs on just 38 targets in 2023 and only had 48 total targets in college.

Is a very willing tackler. Attacks the ball carrier with good technique. Only two missed tackles in 2023 per PFF.

In phase, Jackson does a good job staying in the hip pocket of the receiver. Doesn’t allow the receiver to outrun him and keeps within striking distance.

This is something good for Flores to work with but the lack of experience before he was a fifth-year senior is concerning.
